Discover Remole

A journey to the places from which the House of Remole takes its name

The old House of Remole

THE CUSTODIAN OF 700 YEARS
OF FRESCOBALDI HISTORY

Remole took the name of this historic house,
located at Sieci, east of Florence, where family
memories intersect with great historical events.

The Remole fulling mills

Built in 1300
Along the river Arno

Belonging to the forebears of the Frescobaldis,
they were important workshops, amongst the
biggest in Tuscany, for working and marketing wool.

The Remole furnace

Once closely linked to the lives of the
forebears of the Frescobaldis

In 700 the furnace began producing
bricks and tiles which still cover
many Florentine homes.

Parish of Remole

A mediaeval Romanesque structure
Severe and ancient beauty

Already documented before the year 1000, this
ancient Parish is characterised by an unusually
simple facade with the Bell Tower in the middle.
